Cinnabar-Red Seal Paste in a Porcelain Box

$16.00

Seal paste is not ink: it is red pigment worked into oil and fiber, so an impression sits on paper like embroidery rather than a stain — raised, even, unmistakably red. Packed in its own lidded porcelain box.

What You Get

  • Traditional Chinese seal paste

  • Housed in a lidded porcelain seal box

  • volume:6cm/7cm/8cm/9cm/10cm

  • Red pigment base, blended with oil and plant fiber

  • colour variant: vermilion

Why It Differs From Ink

Ink sinks flat into paper. Seal paste rests on top of the surface. The plant fiber within gives the stamp impression gentle texture and subtle relief. It does not bleed or feather, holding a crisp, defined edge for your seal.

The Porcelain Box

The lidded ceramic container keeps oil from evaporating. Left uncovered, seal paste dries hard and loses its soft, stampable texture. This compact pot protects it, ready for your next impression.

How to Use

Knead the paste lightly with the back of your seal before stamping. Press your stone seal evenly into the paste, then set it flat onto paper. Rock gently and lift straight up for a clean mark. Close the lid tightly after every use.

Care

Keep the lid sealed when not in use. Avoid dust and direct sun. If it begins to dry, add a tiny drop of seal paste oil (not water). Do not let ink or debris mix into the paste.
