The Clover That China Wore First
A small coincidence of cultures: the West wears a four-leaf clover and means luck. China carved four-petal blossoms in jade and meant save — peace, arriving quietly. Same shape, same wish, centuries apart.
These studs live at that overlap: a clover carved from natural Hetian jade in a pale spring tone, set in silver with nothing added.
What You Get
One pair of clover studs — 8 mm across, 2g per side
Jade: natural nephrite (Hetian jade), pale celadon tone, [FILL: 6] mm center — uncertified, priced accordingly
Setting and post: S999 fine silver (99.9% pure), no plating
Materials, Plainly Stated
The stone is real. Natural Hetian jade — nephrite, to use the mineralogist's word — in the pale glutinous tone the region is known for. It is not dyed, not treated, and not certified; what $89 buys is an honest stone at a wearable grade, not a museum piece with paperwork.
The silver is purer than standard. S999 is 99.9% silver — no copper, no nickel, none of the alloys that make 925 sterling itch on sensitive ears. If your ears have rejected every "sterling" earring you've owned, this is the version your skin was complaining about. The trade-off for that purity is softness: fine silver bends more easily than sterling. Slide the backs on gently and store them closed, and they behave like any stud you've owned.
How to Wear
These are the studs you sleep in by accident and don't regret — small, smooth, nothing to catch.
The jade reads best against linen, white shirts, and dark collars; keep other jewelry silver-toned and it holds the frame.
With hair up, the green reads as a single quiet point beside the jaw.
Care
Fine silver is softer than sterling and tarnishes more slowly — a soft dry cloth after wear is the whole routine. Jade dislikes shock more than water: keep them off tile floors and away from keys. Perfume goes on first, earrings go on after. If a back ever loosens, bend it slightly inward — the silver is soft enough to forgive it.
A Note on Natural Stone
Each clover is cut from real jade, so tone shifts slightly from pair to pair — some cooler, some milkier, none exactly like the photo. Carved, not molded. That is the difference, and the reason there is no “exactly” in this listing.
